Being connected means economic mobility.
What we do
Established the public-private-community collaboration to close the digital divide and together we built the San Antonio and Greater Bexar County Digital Equity Plan.
Implementing the Digital Equity Plan by addressing: 1) Secure funding for Access/Infrastructure 2) Affordability 3) Adoption/Digital Skills
Track and report progress in un/under-served areas to ensure every household is connected to high-speed, reliable, and affordable internet
Components of
Digital inclusion
Every household has...

Access / infrastructure
Reliable access to internet at speeds of 100/100 Mbps

Affordability
Service levels at prices households can afford

Adoption / Digital skills
People feel smart, safe and secure online
Affordable and quality internet is foundational to reducing systemic inequities and driving the next generation of societal and economic development.

How we will do it
The Digital Equity Plan outlines the three (3) digital inclusion components: access/infrastructure, affordability, and adoption/digital skills.
We engaged 140+ community entities through interviews, an inventory survey, and focus groups; identified learnings from local efforts underway in San Antonio/Greater Bexar County today; and researched comparable city benchmarks while developing the plan.
Our initiatives will impact households, students, older adults, veterans, people living with disabilities, the workforce, access to telemedicine, and the justice system.
