Built public-private-community collaboration that developed the San Antonio and Greater Bexar County Digital Equity Plan.
Implement our community’s Digital Equity Plan and partner with City/County officials to designate local, state, and federal funding for initiatives to close the digital divide.
Track and report progress in un/under-served areas, impacting households, students, older adults, veterans, people living with disabilities, workforce, telemedicine, and e-justice.
Components of access
Every household has...
Availability & Affordability:
Reliable access to internet at speeds of 100/100 Mbps at an affordable price
Access to connected devices that meet technical requirements
The ability for people to feel smart, safe, and secure online
We will act with an equity-first mindset, focusing initially on the areas with the greatest need.

The DIGITAL EQUITY PLAN proposes initiatives to address barriers to access, including availability, affordability, and adoption barriers. We engaged 140+ community entities through interviews, an inventory survey, and focus groups, identified learnings from local efforts underway in San Antonio/Greater Bexar County today, and researched comparable city benchmarks while developing the plan.
Ultimately, our initiatives will close the digital divide for key population segments including households, students, older adults, veterans, people living with disabilities, the workforce, telemedicine, and the justice system.
